The Burman nonprofit organization has established a significant presence at Ayeyarwaddy International School in Mandalay through the launch of a dedicated chapter program. Members of the school have demonstrated exceptional commitment and diligence throughout this initiative. Their efforts have culminated in a successful fundraiser for flood relief, alongside a donation drive that has collected clothing, stationery, and books in reusable condition. The program uses profits gained from fundraisers at the school to donate to orphanages and flood relief programs. Members of the chapter also take part in volunteering on weekends on donation trips, hosting academic or entertainment workshops, or teaching at, but not limited to, orphanages and homes for people with sensory impairments.
Some of the highlights of the program are that; they went to the Myanmar Red Cross Society situated in Mandalay to donate clothes and listen to the history of the Red Cross Society. For the flood relief, they had collected donations from the school with the cooperation of teachers and parents at Ayeyarwaddy International School. The members had gone to those flood relief locations to deliver the donations in person. They had also hosted a teaching workshop at MBOA in which members taught basic English grammar to kids ranging from ages 7-14.
The Burman Chapter at AIS aims to raise awareness and lend hands willing to help, not just orphans, but underprivileged Burmese youths. In the future, the chapter will have educational workshops to share ideas and document films of these events to showcase the spirits of these Burmese youths. Giving a bigger picture to a wider audience depicting that these children are eager to engage in the world beyond. It is also to be acknowledged that the helping hands do not stop at just for youths, The Burman members at AIS reach out to help communities as well.
